Report Links Alfajer With Gentle Mates

Emir “Alfajer” Beder is reportedly set to leave Fnatic and join Gentle Mates for the 2027 VALORANT season. Sheep Esports reported that the Turkish player is expected to change organizations after more than four years with Fnatic. Neither club has announced the move, and no contract duration, fee or final Gentle Mates lineup has been confirmed.

Alfajer joined Fnatic midway through 2022 and became one of the longest-serving players in the organization’s modern VALORANT project. His tenure included domestic competition, repeated international appearances and the pressure attached to a team expected to challenge for trophies. A departure would therefore represent more than a routine offseason replacement.

The report says Alfajer’s contract was due to end after the 2026 season. It also says he discussed several possibilities, including remaining with Fnatic. That context makes a verbal agreement plausible without making it final. A player approaching the end of a deal can evaluate projects before all paperwork, registration and public announcements are complete.

No transfer fee or contract length was reported. Those omissions matter because they prevent assumptions about whether the move is a direct transfer, a free-agent signing or a longer commitment. Until an organization confirms the terms, the accurate description is that Alfajer is reportedly expected to join Gentle Mates.

A handshake above a blank folder represents a reported verbal agreement

Gentle Mates is assembling a new core

Later reporting places Alfajer inside a broader rebuild. Sheep Esports has also linked Gentle Mates with Ruxic, young duelist kozzy and coach kaplan. Those reports outline a possible direction built from experienced Tier 1 players, emerging talent and a coach with international-league experience.

The names should not yet be treated as an official starting five. Separate verbal agreements can progress at different speeds, and roster plans can change before registration. Gentle Mates has announced neither Alfajer nor a complete 2027 lineup, so role distribution, substitutes and staff responsibilities remain open.

Alfajer’s value in that project would extend beyond mechanical output. He has spent several seasons working inside a team designed for deep international runs. That experience can help a rebuild establish practice standards and pressure management, but it does not remove the need for clear leadership and balanced agent responsibilities around him.

Fnatic’s side of the story is equally important. A reported Alfajer departure would remove a player closely associated with the team’s recent identity. Sheep Esports has separately linked marteen with Fnatic, but the two reports are not an officially confirmed trade between the organizations.

Fnatic must determine how any new player fits with the contracts and roles that remain. Replacing individual firepower is only one part of the task after the organization missed Champions Shanghai. Communication, map preparation and consistency across a full season require a complete structure rather than a one-for-one name change.

Gentle Mates also faces uncertainty outside the roster. The organization is not guaranteed one of the eight VCT EMEA partner positions for 2027. Building early can secure talent, but the final competition route may affect schedule, resources and the amount of qualification pressure the roster faces.

Three official answers are still missing

The first missing answer is a signed announcement. Confirmation from Alfajer, Fnatic or Gentle Mates would establish that the reported agreement became a completed move. A reliable registration update could provide the same certainty if it appears before a public club statement.

The second is the complete Gentle Mates roster. Multiple reported additions create a recognizable project, but they do not confirm every starting role or the final fifth player. The organization must also clarify its coaching structure and any retained members from 2026.

The third is the club’s league position. Riot’s partner selection will determine whether Gentle Mates begins inside the main VCT EMEA field or follows another path. That decision does not change Alfajer’s ability, but it changes the competitive context in which a new roster would be judged.

A partially assembled roster project still has open positions

Alfajer is reportedly preparing to leave Fnatic for Gentle Mates after more than four seasons with the organization. The move would add extensive Tier 1 experience to a developing 2027 project. Official confirmation, contract details, the complete lineup and Gentle Mates’ league status remain unresolved.
